Medellín, September 22, 2022. @MinInterior. The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada Gil, participated in the Second Day of Disciplinary Jurisdiction held in the city of Medellín.
Prada emphasized the need to update the law, taking into account the new challenges of the current conflicts.
“We experience it every day in the exercise of public office – you experience it in the exercise of judicial office, and we live it in the exercise of the executive office, administrative function,» indicated Prada.
In addition, the head of policy insisted on addressing the land issue, calling out that the requirement of fiscal society is to act as a State quickly to recover possession or tenure in the face of a disturbance as mandated by the Police Code and the general legal norms of Civil Law and Criminal Law.
“The Constitution itself has raised the recognition of special rights for indigenous people, campesinos, Afro-descendants, racial and Palenquera communities, rights that can strain the traditional concept of property.”
Prada also recalled that the traditional concept of property clearly admits limitations.
“To that extent, the property admits tensions, and that is a tension that constitutionally is occupying the attention of international courts, international tribunals, and the World Academy and cannot be less for the Colombian Academy.”
On the other hand, he stressed that the government seeks to be a world power of life through three expressions of justice:
· Economic justice
· Environmental justice, a modern and important concept
· Social justice, as an instrument of balance, equity, equality and dignity for all Colombians.
“All we want in the government of President Gustavo Petro is to make this homeland a homeland we can be proud of as a world power for life,” pointed out the MinInterior.
