Bogota, October 9, 2022. @MinInterior. The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, opened the 44th version of the Solidarity Walk for Colombia.

The head of policy reiterated the call for the violent to stop choosing violence and move on to the path of Peace.

“That’s why we want to speak to the violent people of Putumayo and all of Colombia, today we ask them to let down their guard, to give up their acts of violence against the people of Colombia and to accept the invitation to walk in total peace,” said MinInterior

Likewise, he asserted that this Walk will invoke the solidarity of all Colombians with social leaders.

MinInterior recalled that in September the number of murders in the country dropped by more than 46%, further commiting the government to protecting the lives of Colombians.

However, he expressed regret and rejected the murder of five Colombians in the last eight days and assured that measures will be reviewed and taken to the territory to express solidarity, with concrete measures that allow the violent to run so that it can transit a path towards total peace in Colombia.

Finally, Prada stressed that Colombians are moving towards building a more just society in economic, social and environmental terms.

“We hope that this will lead us to inclusive, integral, complete Peace with justice,” said Prada.
