Valle del Cauca, August 26, 2022. The Ministry of the Interior took part in the round table of binding social dialogue with indigenous peoples associated with the Regional Indigenous Organization of Valle del Cauca – Orivac, in the village of Cisneros starting on Tuesday, August 23rd, the day the indigenous mining operation began in the Cali-Buenaventura highway sector.
The purpose is to seek concerted solutions to the disagreements that led these communities to plead in Minga.
On Friday, August 26th, the Deputy Minister General of the Interior, Gustavo García, went to the department of Valle del Cauca to join the Dialogue Table as well.
The Ministry of the Interior reiterates its commitment to indigenous communities. In this way, the National Government commits itself to equal opportunities for ethnic groups through respect for and encouragement of their customs and practices, in order to achieve a society that respects difference and in which all enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
