MinInterior calls for non-stigmatization of social leaders.

Ituango, Antioquia. August 27, 2022. @MinInterior. The Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, accompanied the President of the Republic, Gustavo Petro, at the installation of the Unified Command Post (PMU) for Life, in the municipality of Ituango, where for the first time they came as a government to protect the lives of leaders and human rights defenders. 

The National Government is present for the first time in this municipality. “We installed the Unified Command Post for Life, an example of inter-institutional coordination. A body that brings together simultaneously in the same place, at the same time and in a given region, the country’s institutions. We are accompanied by the international community,” said the head of the Interior.

In addition, Minister Prada acknowledged the leaders and human rights defenders in the region, stating, “The National Government recognizes the importance for the country of the work of human rights defenders and social leaders through their actions and the legitimacy of their activities. They have our recognition and our respect,” Minister Prada stressed.
