Prada called for the protagonists of the conflict to calm down and move into the stage of dialogue.
The Minister of the Interior Alfonso Prada announced that since before his taking office they received a call from the Governor of Cauca, Elias Larrahondo, warning about the conflict they are experiencing over land issues.
In response to this warning, a meeting was held on Monday, August 8th in Congress with the governor of Cauca to assess the situation.
“We have assessed the situation under the guidance of the Governor and want to send a message of reassurance. As President Gustavo Petro said, we will try to resolve this issue with dialogue and tranquility,” said MinInterior.
Prada insisted that the Government assumes the role of helping, collaborating and implementing the various spaces for dialogue and for this reason, announced the presence of the National Government in the territory to dialogue with communities and protect the lives of Colombians.
“I announce my move to the territory. This is a problem that can be resolved with social dialogue,” said the Head of the Policy.
