Vice Minister for Participation and Equal Rigths

Aníbal Fernández de Soto is an attorney-at-law from Universidad de los Andes, specialized on economy from the same University, and a Master’s Degree on Political Action and Citizen Participation from the Rey Juan Carlos and Francisco de Vitoria Universities in Madrid, Spain.
The new Vice Minister was the former Director General of Territorial Planning and Coordinator of the National Environmental System at the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development. Extensive experience as advisor on legislative and political affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003-2006), the High Presidential Advisory Office for Reintegration (2008) and the Congress of the Republic (2002-2003.
He was also responsible for the International Relations Secretariat of the National Conservative Party Directorate (2006-2007) and ran for the Bogota Council in the 2007 elections. Member of the Corporación Pensamiento Siglo XXI political investigation center – a non-profit entity, where he held the office as Executive Director in 2008. Likewise, he was the former Executive Director of the Beverage Industry Chamber of the Asociación Nacional de Empresarios de Colombia (ANDI) (National Entrepreneurs Association of Colombia) from 2009 to 2011.
From the Vice Ministry for Participation and Equal Enforcement of Rights, Aníbal Fernández de Soto will endeavor to promote community and ethnical minority intervention in the Government plans; ensure citizen participation and promote human rights defense.
